Welcome to our newly re-done pet spotlight feature! Jaya (#2021) owns this cutie of a feline! * Name of Your Pet: Ferdinand * Current Age of Your Pet: 5 (Iβve had him since Black Friday 2019) * What is Their Breed?: American Shorthair Cat 1. How did your pet come into your life? A shelter near us was doing a black Friday sale for the cats they had available, and I was window shopping. At the time we had two cats, and obviously we didnβt need more. His quirky face caught my eye, and I somehow talked my husband into going to look at himβ¦. And he came home with us! 2. Do they have any quirky personality traits or habits? He loves making connections (I was once told by a childrenβs psychologist that kids donβt look for attention, theyβre seeking connections, so thatβs what we say about Ferdinand) with everyone in our house. Despite that, he is terrified of anyone new who comes into the home. A few years after he came home, we adopted a bonded pair, and Ferdinand threw himself into one of the pair (Relish), so now theyβre bonded, too (we say Ferdinand and Relish are boyfriends, and Relishβs brother Dill is Ferdieβs brother-in-law). 3. What is your pet's favorite toy or treat? Greenies! Or any flying bug that he manages to catch. 4. Who is their favorite human in your household? He thinks he owns every human in this house, and is not shy about going up and demanding a connection whenever he feels he needs it. 5. What is a special memory that you have with them? The other cats run from my three year old. Ferdie doesnβt care if it means he can make a connection, so they play together. Generally they play βcatchβ where my son tries to catch Ferdie, who runs awayβ¦. aw, it's my baby! Ferdinand and Relish were terrified of the eclipse yesterday. I found them curled up in a ball on my bed shaking. They'll usually sleep so they're touching paws, but not like this! Poor babies. Then five minutes after it ended, they were fine again!  |
